MTA holds National Tourism
Conference: Embracing Pathways to Sustainability
The Malta Tourism Authority held its first National Tourism Conference since 2006, aligning with the Malta Tourism Strategy 2021-2030. January-July 2023 Results Published
Local tourism performance results for the month of July 2023 and for the period January-July 2023 were published today. Statistics reveal that the total number of inbound visitors in July amounted to 328,442 . This was 16.8% higher than last year and 7.5% higher than the pre-Covid levels of July 2019. On a cumulative basis, arrivals for Jan-July 2023 stood at 1,624,242, exceding last year's figure by 35.3% and that of 2019 by 6.7%.....

January-June 2023 Results Published
Local tourism performance results for the month of June and for the period January-June 2023 were recently published. Statistics reveal that the total number of inbound visitors in June amounted to 298,011 - 19.7% higher than last year and 6.2% higher than the pre-Covid levels of June 2019. On a cumulative basis, arrivals for Jan-Jun 2023 stood at 1,289,292, exceding last year's figure by 43.8% and that of 2019 by 6.7%......

MTO Office Inaugurated

Q1 Tourism Results
The Ministry for Tourism and the Malta Tourism Authority are proud to announce the results obtained in the first quarter of 2023. The results have been released by the National Statistics Office with the figures representing the first three months of the year 2023. The conference outlined the accomplishments and the activity that has been done to obtain the success in this year’s first quarter.

MTO Manager Appointed
Mary Rose Briffa is the newly appointed Manager of the Malta Tourism Observatory. Mary Rose has worked in different sectors, during her years of employment. For the last seven years, she worked as a Manager II Research at the Project Development Policy Implementation of the Ministry for Tourism. The Malta Tourism Observatory was officially launched on Thursday 29th September 2022 during a press conference addressed by the Minister for Tourism, Clayton Bartolo. Strategy Launched
Malta’s Tourism Strategy for the years 2021 - 2030 is being published following a drafting and consultation phase during a time which has been profoundly impacted by the chaos, turmoil and uncertainty which the global COVID-19 pandemic has wrought on the world’s economies in general and tourism activity in particular. This strategy is built around the three principles of Recover, Rethink and Revitalise.
